Something to make you S.M.I.L.E. Construction of #AcadiaU's Snoezelen Room is making a dream a reality thanks to the generosity of donors! Snoezelen is a combination of two Dutch words that mean "to seek out and explore" and "to relax." Pronounced SNOO-zelen, it will be a multi-sensory room for program participants featuring ambient sounds, fibre optics, and lighting effects - a place for participants to escape over stimulation. The Snoezelen® is now open at Hope Terrace supportive housing. The immersive multi-sensory suite uses lighting effects, colour, sounds, music, and scents to enable people living with developmental disabilities to self-regulate.
