7News has received reliable reports indicating that there is a riot underway at the Belize Central prison. This is in the wake of 28 men escaping last night. This 7news video taken a short while ago shows guards at the prison scrambling to respond to a disturbance. Earlier, two shots were heard fired inside the prison compound.
