Just finished polishing this surfboard today. It was a commissioned artwork for a client who wanted me to capture his journey from his near death experience due to cancer, to salvation. The symbols in the painting capture the story he told me of how he died, how he found Jesus, and the path he followed that led him to come back to life. I named the painting “Salvation.” It’s painted on a 8 foot Gerry Lopez pipeline gun board. I added the gold pin lines and on the bottom, a gold lightning bolt. M
