The wind on Mount Washington gusted to 120 mph around 11 a.m. today. Since then the winds have slowed down to only gusting over 90 mph... 4.4" of snow measured on the summit cone and plenty of rime ice (frozen fog). When winter starts to take hold on Mt. Washington, typically in October, it's a sign it's not far to go for the rest of New England!
